Our first full week was a busy one. Having completed the orientation period, campers are now able to chose their activities on a daily basis.  In addition the activities that were open during the orientation period, campers had the opportunity to try water-skiing,  the climbing wall,  soccer, baseball, games in the hall, basketball, running, handicrafts and nature. Free evenings kept everyone busy with Twilight League games, ultimate frisbee, kick the can, bocce and other games too numerous to mention.  We had a movie one night and cabin activities another.

Monday was the first laundry day.  It was a light laundry day (1046 pounds - next week will be almost double) as the boys did not have to change their sheets on Sunday having just arrived 3 days before. The boys drop off their dirty laundry bags on their way to lunch and it is returned clean 24 hours later.

Wednesday was the first Jimmy Buffet -- a weekly favorite for everyone.  At home, you might call it "left overs" but the counselors make it much more fun than that!  There are lots of choices and everyone can find something they really like.  Once served,  everyone finds a place to eat outside.

Friday was our annual book fair.  Borders Bookstore provided a great variety of books giving the campers the chance to pick up a few new books to read while at camp.

Saturday afternoon was our first game of Capture the Flag.  Everyone in camp is divided into the Green or Gray team and there is always a lot of team spirit for the games.  Hopefully you can see from the pictures how excited everyone is and some of the outfits worn to show their colors!  They played two great games and in the second game, the Gray team did mange to get the flag.

The inter camp competitions began with a 15 & under and a 10 & under baseball game, a 13 & under basketball game, and a 13 & under soccer game.

Three cabins went on the camping trips.  The Loons left on Monday for Pinkham Notch where they spent 3 days and 2 nights. They climbed Mt. Madison.  The Crows left on Tuesday and traveled to The Forks, Maine where they camped for 2 nights on the shores of the Kennebec River.  Wednesday, they went white water rafting with Three Rivers White Rafting Company.  You can view the pictures taken by the rafting company  by clicking here. The date was June 27 and the pictures which of Timanous campers and counselor boats are 5,7,8,9,11,13,14,15,16,17,19.  The Hawks took canoes on Thursday to the mouth of the Songo River which they then canoed, through the Songo Lockes and into Sebago Lake spending a night on the shores of the lake. The next morning they enjoyed blueberry and M&M pancakes before returning to camp.  The campers all report that the food on these camping trips is great!
