We had three out of camp trips this week. The "5-day" left on Monday with 12 campers and 4 counselors on their way to Lake Azischohos for lots of canoeing.. Tuesday morning, 10 other campers and 4 counselors left for 3 days of hiking in the White Mountains. Still another group of 10 campers had the opportunity to visit the Telemark Inn, a wilderness inn located near Bethel, Maine. They arrived Thursday afternoon to visit with Alaskan sled dogs including a litter of puppies, llamas, horses, a goat and an ox. The next morning, they went on a llama trek into the White Mountain National Forest, returning to camp Friday afternoon. (We discovered the inn this winter when we took our family for a fantastic sled dog ride -- you can see our pictures from the trip on their web page.)
In addition, we again had various inter-camp competitions including 12 & under soccer, 14 & under basketball, and 13& under and 15 & under baseball. Sisters and cousins from Little Wohelo visited Wednesday night and we hosted a dance with Big Wohelo on Friday. Saturday morning, 31 campers and 15 counselors ran the 4 mile Casco Day Road Race - everyone completed the challenging course. Saturday night was "Point Cookout", an all camp cookout on Crow's point.
This next week is our last full week and it will be very busy with special
activities including but not limited to Beach Day, Junior Granddaddy Gorilla,
Capture the Flag, Cabin Skits, and "Horseraces".
