Week One

(Please be patient, there are lots of pictures this week)

We've only been at camp a few days but we have all been very busy. The weather was beautiful on opening day, the boys had a swim in the afternoon, explored around camp, played games on the field, caught up with old friends and met new friends.  After dinner, the new boys had a short orientation meeting and then we all went to the hall to meet the new counselors (only 2 new to Timanous but several returning after a few years off) and hear about some of the activities this summer.

Friday morning came early for some with the bell ringing at 7:15 and breakfast at 8 followed by cabin clean up.  Then the boys started their orientation period. Over the next few days, each cabin will go as a group (all campers - new and returning)  to sailing, woodshop, riflery, archery, soccer, and tennis.  Once this is complete, we will start sign-ups.  Friday afternoon was the first "candy day" -- 2 candy bars and a soda.

It has been sprinkling and overcast Saturday and Sunday but that doesn't stop us from continuing with the activities. The boys hardly seem to notice the rain!  Saturday night, we had the "Twilight League Team Skits", The Twilight League is a softball league with all campers on a team.  The games are played during free evenings and just for fun.  To introduce the teams, the coaches perform skits which your son will have to explain!!!  Some of the teams this year are "Chids Dogs", "All Star Grandpas", and "Top Heavy". Ask your son which team he is on!

Next week will be our first full week and we have lots planned.
