Follow Your Camper And Their Activities During The Summer Of 2007 At CampTimanous!
This week went by so quickly!
Five cabins went on their camping trips. The Falcons
left Monday morning for 3 days and 2 nights in Pinkham Notch in New Hampshire.
They climbed Mt. Madison on Tuesday. It was a hard climb but they
all made it to the top.
The Ravens also left Monday putting their canoes in at the south end of Lake Umbagog which is on the Maine/New Hampshire boarder. They spent 2 days canoeing most of the length of the lake meeting the Cardinals at the north end on Wednesday. The Ravens then headed home while the Cardinals took over the canoes traveling across the lake, camping on the opposite side of the lake. The Eagles left Wednesday morning canoeing through the Songo Lockes, down the Songo River and spending the night on the shores of Sebago Lake and finally the Mallards spent the night on Crow's Point Friday night. The weeks trip pictures can be seen here. With so many campers out of camp, it was a little quiet here. For the most part, activities went on as normal. Danny the Barber came during dinner on Wednesday night and many boys got hair cuts. Friday morning, we had our first breakfast buffet which was very popular. Some boys chose to sleep a little later and come towards the end while there were many who were waiting in line when the doors opened at 8 am. On Friday afternoon, with everyone back in camp, there were some very exciting Capture the Flag games. Friday evening, there was the always popular tubing! Saturday evening we had cabin cookouts and the Mallards joined the Crows a the Crow's cookout site.. They all had a chance to use the Crows slide and fire pole! After cookouts and singing in the hall, everyone gathered on Beginner's Beach for the burning of the bonfire -- finally!! It was a great bonfire, burning very quickly. There was a 15 & under soccer tournament at Nashoba North, a 10 & under kickball game, a 14 & under soccer game, a Cross Country Race and sailing regatta at O-AT-KA. The first half of the week was cooler than normal and pretty damp but the second half of the week was perfect! It is really hard to believe that this weekend marked the half way point at camp! |
