12 campers and 4 counselors left on Monday on a 5 day camping trip to Lake Aziscohos. They put their canoes in at the northern end of the lake and spend the week paddling on the lake. On Friday, they were met at the southern end of the lake where they climbed Mt. Aziscohos before coming back to camp.
On Tuesday, another group of 13 campers and 4 counselors headed to Acadia National Park where they camped at one of the National Park campgrounds. On Wednesday, they picked up their bikes in Bar Harbor and then spent the day biking the trails. The only disappointment of the trip was that Thursday morning, they had planned on making a the pre-dawn trip to the top of Cadillac Mountain to see the sun rise but the overcast sky blocked the sunset.
A group of 7 campers and 3 counselors also left on Monday for the White Mountains with full back packs. The started their hike at Grafton Notch State Park and spent 2 nights on the trail averaging 7 miles a day. |
