Summer 2009

Week Four

Camp is starting to dry out, the docks are no longer floating, we've had sun for at least part of every day and finally saw 80 degrees on two different day! It is great to be outside and enjoying the sun!

Three cabins, Hawks, Falcons and Crogles went on their camping trips. To see pictures, click here.

We had a great week. The boys were very busy with their activities: riflery, sailing, archery, baseball, kayaking, climbing wall, tennis, basketball , water skiing, running, campcraft, swimming, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, canoeing, nature, woodshop, handicrafts, touch football were all possibilities this week.

During free evenings, there were more options with Kick the Can, Bocce Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, Twilight League Games, tennis, basketball, canoeing and boating, fishing, tubing. One evening, a group went on a Scavenger Hunt which took them all around camp before finding the "treasure".

Friday morning we played Granddaddy Gorilla which is a huge game of hide and seek. The counselors hide and the campers seek. It is a team activity as cabins score points for each counselor found. You can't imagine some of the hiding spots the counselors come up with!

Friday afternoon, we had our second game of "Capture the Flag" and Friday evening we all enjoyed "Timanous Tonight".

Saturday, a group of sailors went to O-At-Ka for a regatta.

Saturday afternoon, our first half session ended with our weekly Council Fire. It is hard to believe 3 1/2 weeks have passed since opening day and we were very sorry to say good by to a great group of campers.

That evening we had an all camp cookout followed by a free evening -- it was such a glorious day, everyone wanted to be outside as much as possible.

Sunday was a relaxing day but that evening, the upper bunkline went to Wohelo for a dance (Click for Pictures) while the lower bunkline went tubing.

What a difference a week makes! Camp is starting to dry out and the docks are no longer underwater! It's been great to see the sun!
