The Crows left on Tuesday for The Forks, Maine. They spent 2 nights camping on the shores of the Kennebec River and then had the chance to raft the Kennebec on Wednesday. The river was fast and the rapids were very exciting. You can view pictures taken by the rafting company here. (July 1) Although they didn't see much sun on their trip, they didn't see rain until the trip home.
The Herons left on Monday in a little drizzle. They had a challenging climb up Rattlesnake Mountain and then canoed Panther Pond to a camp site at the other end of our lake, returning by canoe Tuesday morning. It was great to watch them paddle around Crows point and back to camp.
The Eagles took their canoes to Sebago Lake where we usually get to go through the Songo Lockes but that day there were not running the Lockes -- perhaps due to a lack of boat traffic. So they put their boats in on the other side of the Lockes and canoed to their camp site on Sebago Lake.
