A lot has happened in the last few days. Although hard to believe, 3 1/2 weeks have passed since opening day and Saturday was the end of the first half session. It was a normal Saturday morning with a late sleep followed by regular Saturday morning activities. By lunch time, many of the first session campers’ parents had arrived. They joined their sons for lunch and had the chance to hear what they had been up to for the past 3 1/2 weeks. After lunch, parents watched their sons at activities before we all assembled for our weekly Council Fire, usually held on Sunday evenings and which was the official end of the first session. It was hard to say good bye to our first session campers as it was a great group but we hope to see them all back next summer.

There was a swim before dinner which was an all camp cookout and was followed by a free evening and dips.

Sunday was another sunny day, even warmer than Saturday. We had a normal Sunday morning which means a longer cabin cleanup, chapel and Sunday letters. That afternoon was pretty relaxed with lots of activities including tubing. The 2 waterski boats ran all afternoon giving everyone a chance to tube. A group of campers and counselors watched the exciting women’s World Cup soccer finals and Gelato Fiasco, a Maine gelato company dished up amazing gelato for everyone with the flavor choices including “Camp T” Chip, Camp S’More, Brownie Batter, Cake Batter, Junior Mint and Wild Forest Berries. After dinner, there was a outdoor movie.

Monday morning started off sunny and very hot but just after lunch when our second half session campers were arriving, it started to rain. Most of the new campers were moved in and unpacked before quiet hour was over so they were ready for the afternoon activities. The rain had stopped and while our full time campers had a normal afternoon, the campers who just arrived, went for a swim, followed by a camp tour and then activity orientation. After dinner, we had a free evening and the new campers completed their orientation periods. They are now ready for sign-ups Tuesday morning.
