It is significantly warmer today, sunny with a great breeze — I’m watching the sailboats right now and they are flying! This afternoon is Junior Granddaddy Gorilla (the campers did not run around like monkeys when it was announced). It is a little different than Granddaddy Gorilla – this time the campers hide and the counselors search for them but the campers are at a bit of a disadvantage because unlike the counselors who are allowed to hide on top of buildings, in trees, etc, the campers hiding possibilities are limited. Also, since most of our counselors were campers, it is hard to find a spot that some counselor doesn’t already know about. We’ll see if anyone goes undetected!

Yesterday, we had our last camper birthday of the summer and thought you would enjoy seeing a birthday celebrated Timanous style. There is a lot of traffic in the barn as the tables are being cleared at the same time. You will hear the crowd chanting “Speech, Speech” after the song as it is a tradition that the Birthday “Boy” say something. The cake was shared with his cabin after lunch.
