Saturday, July 7
We woke to what looked like a rainy day and it had poured over night but by the end of breakfast, we could see some blue sky and the rest of the day was perfect. Saturday morning, we hosted the Timanous Relays. Four neighboring camps brought their swim teams over and competed in a series of relays. Timanous did win a majority of the races as you can see from the number of ribbons in the picture below.
The afternoon was a regular afternoon with two activity periods followed by free time. There were a lot of sailboats on the lake as many campers took advantage of the steady breeze. When the bell rang at 5:30, everyone headed to their cabin cookout sites and began to make their fires. It was a perfect night for a cookout!
Flag lowering was followed by a free evening with numerous activities available including a Twilight League game between the TimanAvengers and “Where’s Ebs?”. When the bell rang at 7:45, everyone gathered by the bonfire. As is tradition, the Crows cabin performed a skit and then the youngest boy in camp helped Dave light the bonfire. All the hard work paid off as it was spectacular. It burned quickly and could still be seen burning from many of the cabins long after the boys headed to bed.
Sunday morning, the entire camp will go to Wohelo, our sister camp, for a celebration of the founders and will be back at Timanous for lunch.
